how to make a catapult

 Today i made a catapult i just used random objects around the house it was pretty hard at first because i was thinking to much so then i looked at all the stuff i had and though of what i could make.Then i though i could make a catapult i gave it a go and it worked.

what you will need:

plastic spoon so you can actually launch it.

a piece of cardboard.

some tin foil.

paper towel inside thingy.

and some blue tack if you don't have that glue and if you don't have that then hot glue gun and if you don't have that then tape.

First you cut a square out from your cardboard then cut half of the inside of the paper towel and stick the inside of the paper towel to the cardboard and stick the plastic spoon on to the paper towel thing and get some tin foil and roll it into a ball and then you can launch it here is how it's meant to look like.

All i know is that it goes longer then 150 cm.

2021 writing

 I’m really excited for 2021 but i'm also not excited about 2021 the only reason why i don’t want it to be 2021 is because then i will only have a year left at Glen Taylor school because i'm a year 7.And the reason why i want to be a year 7 is because i have mrs.Fonua as a teacher and that’s why i'm excited and not excited

weekend

 During the weekends i went to go pick up my aunty from the airport While we were driving to the airport it started to rain.I jumped out of the car and went to go look for my aunt since i couldn't find her i went back into the car and we started to look for her inside the car.My sister spotted her so we shouted out aunty over here so she rushed her way to the car and hopped in we drove back home and played this board game called cluedo it's basically like a murder mystery game.you first have to pick your character there's red,yellow,green,blue,purple,and white then there's some cards you have to hand out and more things but i can't really explain.Then i played connect four with my sister.After my other aunty came and so did my cousins it was fun.

dear diary entry for high school week

 Dear diary 2018 may the 27th I went to this place called skate land. It was amazing. It was for my sister's birthday. I went with my cousins,sister,brother and a few other people.I didn’t really know how to skate so someone had to teach me then I kept on practising till i got the hang of it.there were some activities and you could race do the limbo while skating and plenty more.After skate land we went to mc donalds to eat and then we went back home I was really exhausted.

ping pong experiment

 Today me and room 10 experienced a floating ping pong ball it’s when you have a hair dryer and a ping pong ball you turn the heat onto 1 and you put the ping ball on and it will be levitating slowly when you turn it up higher it will go higher than before and then when you turn it up to 3 it will be very high.

 When i think of it my imagination takes me to a thunderstorm just starting when i'm playing ping pong outside and i was just about to win until it started to rain and then a tornado came and lifted the ping pong ball and lifted it up higher and higher when you turn the hair dryer of it’s like the tornado stopping and everything falls down.

The ball is very light so all the air from the hair dryer lifts it up and that’s how it levitates this experience was fun and i want to try it again,

Elephant toothpaste

                                              What you need

Today me and my class experienced elephant toothpaste using 10% of hydrogen peroxide, a few drops of dish washing soap, a few drops of food colouring , yeast and hot water.

                                                      How to do it

First you get a bottle that’s not too wide and not too slim then you get hydrogen peroxide and try measuring 10% of hydrogen peroxide, get a funnel and put it into the bottle and pour the hydrogen peroxide in.put in a few drops of dish washing soap inside the same bottle just add 2 3 or 4 add in food colouring any colour you want.Then get a glass cup and add yeast and hot water together mix it and pour it into the bottle using the funnel just make sure you pour it in fast so that it doesn’t explode on your face put it in the middle of the table so it doesn’t drip onto the floor.

Once there was a big elephant who was a circus animal it did some really hard tricks like walk across a thick rope so that it doesn’t break it and it did many more tricks it was a very talented elephant so the producers of the circus thought oh hey that elephant is very talented maybe we should try something harder.So they thought let’s put it in a cannon to see what happens they put the elephant inside the cannon which was getting really difficult because it couldn’t fit so they forced the elephant into it and they finally got it in.The boss of the circus said light the match so they did and once the elephant was about to shoot out it was going really slow then the elephant shot out and it landed in a net so that it wouldn’t fall.

My trip to Hamilton

 Last week Saturday me my 2 sisters,my mum, and my brother went to Hamilton but my dad didn't come because he needed to feed the bunny so he stayed home while we went to Hamilton we followed my uncle because he's been to Hamilton plenty of times.

 Before went to Hamilton me and my family went to have a quick feed because we woke up at 6 am and go at 7 am then after we ate we finally went to Hamilton it was an hour drive so my feet and legs hurt because it was crowded. 

We went to leap which was basically like gravity we went back home and me and my cousin played pool he one twice i won once afterward we ate and went to sleep we only stayed for 2 days because my sister and my mum had an appointment which was sad and the last day we went to the park and left in the morning.

Tea bag experiment

Yesterday we tried doing this tea bag experiment so basically you have to unroll your tea bag and if you can’t ask someone who has sharp nails to do it but make sure you don’t rip it otherwise it won’t work you also have to get the right tea bag for it to work but Mr Raj got the wrong tea bags multiple time so we continue testing out the ones he just brought Mr.Raj couldn’t find the right one because they are all soled out i think.

Anyway when you light the match and set it on fire it looks like a firework shooting up in the air once it comes down it looks like a bunch of leaves falling off of the tree once it falls down you catch it in a cup.

The reason behind this magic is because the flames coming from the fire are warmer and warm is lighter than cold so the coldness lifts the tea bag up in the air and it comes down once disintegrates into ashes which is really cool.

It was really cool to experience this experiment and my family want to try it at home.

what im reading

This book is telling us about tigers they talk about how they're born predators. Tigers are the biggest cats out of all the other cats. It can grow up to 11 feet long isn't that big. And it weights more then six hundred pounds. Tigers are known for their black and orange skin but theirs a black and white one they are sort of like finger prints. Their stripes keep them hidden in the forest or anywhere they live. Tigers are carnivores which means they eat meat only they move only move slow and quietly to catch their prey.

                                                                                    Tigers claws can grow to 5 inches long. Their                                                                                            claws are their weapons. Tigers tails help them                                                                                          balance like humans but humans need balance                                                                                          with their ears. Their whiskers are like system                                                                                            alarms.

reasons why i don't like lock down

1. I don't like lock down because we can't see our friends at school.
2. We can't go to school and i like school.
3. You could catch covid 19 if you go outside and touch something.
4. you have to wear a mask and i think that they don't do anything because they have holes in it and also because i can't breathe underneath it.
5. You have to stay in isolation if you're sick and you can't go out.
6. You have to stay 3 feet away from people when you go to the shops or go for a walk to get some fresh air.
7. Also i have to do online work.
and those are the reasons why i don't like lock down.

how to make cook island donuts

Today me and my group made cook island donuts. First grab a big bowl, a small bowl, knife ,fork, and spoon. Get your small bowl and add 3/4 of water and 11/2 of yeast. Then get your big bowl and add some flour add as much as you want because i don't really know the measurements. Add sugar and put your yeast and water mix it well then add melted butter and then mix that then add 1 egg in. Leave it for 2 and a half hours so it can rise after that start rolling them up to balls and poke a hole into it and fry it then at the end you eat it yummy!. The group i was in was Helena,Michelle,and Tuakana.

how to make poke

first peel the bananas and put them into a big pot and add as much bananas you want. Then go to your kitchen or where ever you cook and add water add it till your bananas are covered. then let it boil up to 20 to 15 minutes. Once it's mushy take it off the oven and bring it to the bench. get a big bowl and put the boiled bananas into the bowl and squeeze it make sure you have gloves cause it's gonna be boiling hot add brown sugar and tapioca starch make sure it's mushy. Then get a spoon and start mixing it also ask another person to slowly add coconut cream. Once that's done add it to a tray and put it in the oven for as much minutes as you think it needs. If you want coconut cream on top of it then this is how to make it. put as much coconut cream and brown sugar then put it on to the stove or whatever and slowly mix it till it boils once it's done eat it and enjoy.

cook island week

This week is cook island week and this is how long it takes to get to cook island it takes 4 h 35 mins. Here are some facts about cook island cook island was named after captain cook. Apparently captain cook didn't spot Rarotonga. Cook island people have 3 dollar notes. They have coconut crabs. They have no Mc Donalds KFC or starbucks. And i would really like to go to cook island because the place is beautiful especially the ocean and i love coconuts.

What I did in the holidays

In the holiday I went for a walk with my sisters and my cousin we only went for a walk on the bridge.
After that we went to my brothers rugby game he scored a try for the other team. And then we watched Netflix and cleaned up. We did 1 hour of homework almost everyday but sometimes we didn’t

Flying kites

On Thursday the 7th of June we started to make kites.My one was made out of newspaper,kebab sticks,and some straws.It would have been better if I used plastic so that it would fly higher. Two more weeks later we started to finish our kites of and went to go test it out. Once it was the afternoon we went to go have some fun with our kites my one flew but I had to get a start of by keeping on running it was fun.
